It was another hot, sunny day. I had a really nice phone call with Jamie and then went for my daily walk. I headed past the park through Cairns and the back of Halfway, and then found a beautiful country path which skirted around fields planted with barley. I emerged near Flemington Farm and started walking up towards Nerston, but I ran out of water and felt very hot and bothered, so I phoned James who came and collected me by car. Yes I know, what a quitter, but in my defence I really was overheated on this fine day.
Back in the garden, Cat and I did some yoga together which was great fun, and it felt particularly great to do yoga outdoors, something that I have long intended to do. This made me think about all of the other things that I have done during quarantine that I usually don’t find time for, even though I’m retired. Although I have been doing all of the cooking and cleaning for a household of five, I have also been drawing, sitting outside in the garden, walking much more than usual, exploring parts of the local area that I never knew existed, even a bit of cycling on the much quieter roads.
